A 36-year-old Sonoma woman died after she sped through an intersection and into a brick wall during a pursuit with Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies early Wednesday morning, authorities said.

The woman’s name was not available Wednesday morning, CHP Sgt. Joe McDermott said.

It appeared her family had not yet been notified, he said.

The woman was driving down West Agua Caliente Road around 1:27 a.m. Wednesday when she ran through the intersection at Arnold Drive and into one of two freestanding brick walls that frame the entrance to the Hanna Boys Center, authorities said.

She was ejected from the car, which was in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene, Sonoma Valley Fire Battalion Chief John Franceschi said.

She was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where she died of her injuries, he and McDermott said.

The CHP is investigating the crash but McDermott said he had no information about the pursuit itself.

Additional details were not immediately available from the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
